The British Chamber of Commerce is pleased to invite you to attend a lunch with Guest Speaker, Gast Waltzing, well known Luxembourg musician and composer, who will talk about:
- How to survive as a musician in Luxembourg;
- What are the possibilities for a musician in Luxembourg and abroad;
- What is the income from the music industry for Luxembourg.
Born in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Gast Waltzing’s defining passion has always been music. Classically trained at Europe’s leading Conservatories, he was the founder of the Conservatoire of Luxembourg’s Jazz Department, of which he is now the head. In the course of his prestigious career he has released tens of albums, ranging from classical to jazz to dance and has composed the scores for over 160 TV movies and cinema releases (Maison Close for Canal +, Küstenwache, JCVD, George and the Dragon etc.)
Many of his Film music scores were written for Symphony Orchestra and he has conducted and recorded them with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg - who he also conducted in special public productions, such as a coronation celebration concert for Luxembourg’s Grand Duke in 2000 with Patricia Kaas, and the opening of the Tour de France in 2002 with the Scorpions.
In 2012 his quartet entertained Members and guests at the British Chamber of Commerce 20thAnniversary Party at the British Embassy Residence.
