About this event

The British Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce our first ever event for International Women's Day: "Celebrating Change - Challenging the Status Quo" in partnership with The Network and with guest speaker, Rajaa Mekouar, Private Equity Investor. This will take place online on Monday 08 March 2021 at 18:30.

CELEBRATING CHANGE: CHALLENGING THE STATUS QUO

How can we build on the successes of women?

The world is changing. 2020 was a year like no other and many of the challenges we faced affected women disproportionately. At the same time, there are green shoots of hope; women shining in the face of adversity or suddenly thrust into the spotlight just days after moving into a new role, as was the case with Luxembourg’s own Health Minister, Paulette Lenert who gave an interview to the BCC at the October Leadership Forum.

The BCC for Luxembourg is changing too. Over the last few years, we have seen more representation of women both at events and on the various boards, rising to 40% on the 2019/20 Council and a third of the Council’s Executive Committee.

We are also proud supporters of “My Pledge”, and the International Dual Career Network, committed to increasing gender equality in Luxembourg.

We are pleased to announce that the Chamber, led by the People & Leadership Group, will hold its first ever event to mark International Women’s Day 2021!

And who better to partner with than The Network – ‘the only international, English-speaking and multicultural organisation promoting the development and advancement of professional women in Luxembourg’.

To celebrate IWD, the BCC and The Network is going to look at the green shoots of hope, the shining lights and the everyday successes of ordinary and extraordinary women.

ABOUT THE EVENT

We are pleased to welcome Rajaa Mekouar, a well-known private equity (PE) investor with twenty years of experience across Europe and emerging markets, who will give her perspective on women’s successes in Luxembourg and the world.

Following Rajaa’s introduction we would like to invite you to join us for our interactive “Appreciative Inquiry” workshop to answer the question: How can we build on the successes of women?

You will have the opportunity to reflect on how women and men have successfully driven the gender equality agenda despite past challenging months, and how women and men can work together to build on these successes in the future. You will leave the workshop with practical ideas and new connections to help you build inclusivity at work and beyond.

The British Chamber wishes to thank SPUERKEESS for their generosity in sponsoring this event.

The cost of attending this event is: BCC Members: FREE; The Network members: FREE and Non-Members: €10.
