Luxembourg has been building up over decades a major financial center, ranking 12th, right after Frankfurt, in the Global Financial Center Index. Long perceived as having built its success on the existence of banking secrecy, will Luxembourg stand to lose from having agreed to increased transparency? Will the introduction of automatic exchange of information bring an end to accusations of Luxembourg being a tax-haven? How can these perceptions be changed and what is actually being done?
Nicolas Mackel, the CEO of Luxembourg for Finance will give an inside view on the daily challenge of bringing the perception of Luxembourg's financial industry in line with the level of financial expertise actually available in Luxembourg.
