Officially the top personal tax rate in Luxembourg is 39% but how much of your income does the Luxembourg taxman really take before you can spend the rest? How much does your employer need to pay in addition to your salary to be able to employ you and how does this compare with the rest of Europe?
Officially the company tax rate in Luxembourg is 22% but how much of the profit of a company does the Luxembourg taxman take before the shareholders get their share and how does this compare with the rest of Europe? Where is the best place to set up holding company for your business affairs or your private investments? Karl will be discussing all of the above points.
Karl has worked in taxation in Luxembourg for international clients for 30 years. He was the managing partner of HT group, which was taken over by Vistra (Luxembourg) Sarl in April 2012, and is the Luxembourg member of AGN International. AGN International is a worldwide association of accounting and consulting firms present in 88 countries with 10,000 partners and staff. For 10 years Karl was the Chairman of the AGN Taxation task Force and it was he who started the annual surveys that he is presenting. The purpose of the surveys is to calculate the total tax, duties, social security and whatever else the Governments may decide to call a charge that they levy on companies or individuals and find the net amount of money that is left in the pockets of the taxpayers that they can spend. This way the real Government charge levied by the different European countries can be compared. Karl will show how Luxembourg compares to the other European countries.
