2012 is the 20th Anniversary of the British Chamber of Commerce for Luxembourg and to start the New Year we are delighted to announce that Luc Frieden, Minister of Finance, has agreed to speak to our members on the subject, “Luxembourg's future in Euroland”.
Luc Frieden studied law at the Centre universitaire de Luxembourg and the Université de Paris I (Panthéon Sorbonne), where he graduated in 1986 with a Master's degree in Business Law. In 1987 he obtained a Master's degree in Comparative Law and Legal Philosophy from the University of Cambridge (UK) and in 1988 a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School. He was first elected Member of Parliament for the Christian Social Party (CSV) in 1994. He has held several positions in the government and since the legislative elections of June 7th 2009 he has held the position of Minister of Finance and represents the Luxembourg government at the Council of Ministers of the European Union in its Economic and Financial Affairs configuration as well as at the Eurogroup meetings.
