The label < MADE IN LUXEMBOURG > is a brand initiated in 1984 by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts. Its aim is to establish the Luxembourgish origin of products and services. Darren Robinson, Managing Partner at Anderson Wise explains ‘the team and I are delighted to receive the label and very proud to belong to the local Luxembourg community of label holders. I am personally very supportive of local produce and local companies, during the pandemic I have been very vocal about promoting local industry, shopping locally with my personal campaign on Facebook and LinkedIn #ChooseLocal #WiseChoice More recently people are more interested in choosing a product or service that has local origins. It makes sense, local businesses are owned by people who live and shop locally, they are also more concerned about the local community’s welfare and future. To quote Michael H. Schuman (Author of Going Local)’ Going local does not mean walling off the outside world. It Means nurturing locally owned businesses which use local resources sustainably, employ local workers at decent wages and serve primarily local consumers. It means becoming more self-sufficient and less dependant on imports. Control moves from the boardrooms of distant corporations and back into the community where it belongs. Robinson adds ‘we will display our Made in Luxembourg label with pride’
