On Thursday 19 June 2025, the British Chamber of Commerce and the Ireland Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce held a joint evening event at Hotel Parc Belair. Ken O’Mahony gave a detailed presentation on personal tax and inheritance issues affecting people with ties to Luxembourg, Ireland, and the UK.
He explained how each country handles inheritance differently—who gets taxed, what exemptions apply, and how residency and domicile affect tax obligations. Ken also covered key differences in handling property, cash, shares, and businesses, pointing out how important it is to get proper advice—especially when estates span multiple countries.
The session included case studies and concluded with a Q&A. A networking reception followed, during which a lively discussion continued among attendees over drinks and canapés.
