International Cricketing Legend, Matthew Hoggard will help the Optimists Cricket Club celebrate one of their most successful seasons by joining them at the Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday 19th January. The Optimists Cricket Club, Luxembourg was founded just over 40 years ago and has thrived ever since. With over 100 members and an ever-growing Juniors Cricket program, the Optimists Cricket Club has gone from strength to strength. 2018 was a stellar year. The 1st XI won the Belgian Cricket Federation League 2, the 2nd XI won their pool in League 5 and the Club also won the Belgian T20 competition for the first time. To celebrate this success, the Optimists CC will be hosting their Awards Dinner at the Hotel Parc Belair on Saturday 19th January. Ex-England Cricketer, Matthew Hoggard will be giving a speech and answering questions from the audience afterwards as well as the presenting the various awards to the winners. A raffle will be held with 1st prize being two ticket to Lords Cricket Ground in London to watch a World Cup match between South Africa vs Pakistan in June 2019 and all profits will be going to Tricentenaire ASBL in Walferdange. The Tricentenarie work hard to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in Luxembourg and the Optimists Cricket Club are proud to be supporting them.
