BCC: EU Pay Transparency Directive: A New Era for Equality?
By Nadia Eatough for BCC Sustainability group, May 01 2025
On 26th March, the British Chamber of Commerce for Luxembourg (BCC) welcomed members and guests to an engaging breakfast panel discussion centred around one of the most ambitious pieces of European employment legislation in recent years: the EU Pay Transparency Directive. The event, hosted by Baker McKenzie Luxembourg and organised by the BCC Sustainability Working Group, brought together experts from legal, corporate, and recruitment fields to explore how transparency can become a catalyst for fairness, equity, and long-term business resilience.
The British Chamber of Commerce for Luxembourg‘s new global campaign, “๐ช๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ป๐ด๐” is a campaign that aims to provide a powerful platform for businesses to come together, drive growth, and make a real difference in the market.ย As part of this campaign, we will spotlight our members who have also answered three short questions for us!
We asked Nicki Kayser | Managing Partner | Linklaters LLP Luxembourg
Linklaters enjoys a long-standing relationship with the British Chamber of Commerce Luxembourg stretching back to the time of our former name partner Jacques Loesch, a committed anglophile and early supporter of the Chamber. ย Today, we enjoy participating in and contributing to the large variety of events organised by the British Chamber of Commerce Luxembourg and interact with the Chamberโs other members.
Digitalisation and sustainability. For some years now we have been at the forefront of the ESG developments, helping our clients to navigate the regulatory tsunami. ย With the effect of ESG regulations trickling down from more regulated entities like funds to economic actors at large, this subject is becoming ever more relevant for all our clients. ย Digitalisation, including transformative AI, is top of many of our clientsโ agendas and is set to shape tomorrowโs world.
How to switch off from work. ย The health and wellbeing of Linklatersโ people is central to how the firm operates. ย It is important to find the right balance to be able to close the (now often virtual) door of the office so as to be able to disconnect and return refreshed and motivated to the office.
